Basketball On Court

What Makes Level Up Different

Promotion and Relegation

Other leagues have varied level of play across divisions. However, Level Up OKC is the only OKC basketball league to force relegation of level losers and promotion of league winners.

Prize Money

The winner of Level C gets their money back. The winner of Level B gets 1.5x their money back. The winner of Level A gets 2x their money back.

Game Tape

Every game will have two sets of video: A still camera of the entire court, and an active angle from a dedicated videographer. This footage is free on the Level Up OKC website.

Each Team as a Brand

Captains also act as "GMs" for their team and its unique brand. Each team has its own mascot, logo, and jerseys. We envision the growth of the league to also mean growth of each brand within the league. GM's can set their own pricing per player, hold their own tryouts, run their own social media, and build their own fanbase as they see fit.

Media Infrastructure

The Level Up OKC website will provide team stats, player stats, schedules, standings, game footage, and dedicated Bio pages for each team and its players. The website will play directly into our social media, where we will post stats, standings, highlights, and various accolades like Player of the Week.

No Age or Gender Restrictions

Level Up OKC is a true meritocracy where the best team wins. All are welcome, from young players looking to cut their teeth and gain visibility from scouts, to seasoned veterans looking to show they’ve still got it.

A Vision for the Future

At Level Up OKC, we are looking to provide complete vertical integration of basketball skill levels. This already exists in Europe and many other leagues in the world. We want to create a space where someone can play their way from the couch into a semi-professional league. Ultimately, we would like to expand to at least 5 Levels of at least 8 teams.

Officiating Bonus

The top 25% of officiating performances each week will receive double their usual rate. This is designed to incentivize competitive officiating as well as playing.

How The League Is Structured

Levels

To kick off our league, 12-15 teams will be divided into 3 levels. Level A is intended to be NCAA D3 quality basketball. Level B is intended to be at a competitive rec league level. Level C is intended for newer players or groups of friends looking for some healthy competition. Over time, we will look to add a new top “Level S” , and a bottom “F stands for Fun Level” .

New Teams

As our league grows, we envision as many 40 teams being a part of Level Up OKC. New Teams will try out by playing friendlies against existing teams and each other, and will be placed according to their performance.

Season 1

For our inaugural season, teams will play 6 regular season games. The top four teams from each tier (likely the entire tier to start), will play a four team tournament on the final day of play.

Game Time

Games will be split into two 20 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime. The clock will be constantly running with no stoppages outside of timeouts, halftime, and the final stoppage. Each team has three 30 second time outs which can be used at any point during their possession or a dead ball.

Ending the game

The game must end on a made basket, and the final score shall be three points higher than the leading score at the clock’s expiration. Upon the clock’s expiration, play shall be paused for a 30 second timeout, after which, the trailing team shall in-bound the ball from under their own basket to resume play.
